Wheat


Time of sowing:  Ideal time: 15th November to 30th November ( can be extended to 15-20th December)

Sowing procedure: Can be sown as broadcasting or in rows.  Row spacing should be 20 cm and should be sown 4-5 depth.

Fertiliser application:  In the begining of land preparation 7.5-10 ton gobar/compost organic manure may be applied. After that apply irrigation along with  150-175 kg/ha urea, 135-150 kg/ha TSP, 100-110 kg/ha potash, 110-125kg/ha gypsum should be applied to the field at the end of the land preparation followed by  mixing well with lader.

In irrigated field apply 75-90 kg urea/ha  to plant having three leaf along with first irrigation in the noon time in moist soil. Also apply 6.5 kg/ha boric acid during last phase in the preparation of the field.Also add zinc sulphate at the rate of 12.5 kg/ha.

Scheduling of irrigation: 2-3 irrigations are generally required. First irrigation after 17-21 days after sowing ( three leaf stage), second irrigation after after 50-55 days ( at the start of tillering). These two irrigation should be light irrigation third irrigation at 75-80 days ( grain formation stage).

Other activities:  Do not allow birds in the wheat field at least upto 10-12 days after sowing. Do intercultural operation between 25-30 days to remove the weeds when adequate soil moisture presents Broad leaf weeds like bothua/ kakari should be removed by additing weedicies like  2, 4 diamine or affinity kind  by adding 35ml of the  mixing the chemicals to 10 litre water and spray the on the cloud free days. Also monitor the rat incidences. Control the rat population by using trap or poison like  zinc phosphide or  lanirat
