Sowing: This is cultivated in Rabi and Kharif 1 as well. In rabi season, it
is sown 15th October to 15th
November. And in kharif 1, it is sown from 15th February to 15th
March.
Sowing
procedure: It should be sown in rows. Row to row distance should be 60 cm and along the row one plant or 2 plants
at a distance 25 cm and 50 cm respectively should be maintained.

At the end
of land preparation 1/3rd of urea should be applied as basal dose
along with other fertilisers as mentioned above. Rest of the urea should be
applied in two top dressing. First top dressing after 25-30 days after
germination and second top dressing after 40-50 days.
Thinning & Weeding:
Within one month after germination of seed thinning and weeding operations should be completed.
Irrigation Schedule: Prescribed Irrigation schedule is given below:
1st
Irrigation:15-20 days ( 4-6 leaves)
2nd
Irrigation: 30-35 days (8-12 leaves)
3rd
Irrigation: 60-70 days ( Emergence of Cob)
4th
Irrigation: 85-89 days ( Grain formation)
Care should
be taken so that in any case there should not be water logging in the wheat
field during flowering and grain formation stages.
